The Chinese Class for Adoptees is offered by Wholistic Education (https://www.holisticedu.us) and sponsored by Village of the Stars (VoS). Classes are conducted online, typically once a week, with each session lasting about one hour.
Program Details:
Dedicated Volunteer Teachers – Our instructors are not only professionals in Chinese language education but also have a deep commitment to supporting adoptees and children with special needs.
Tailored Curriculum – Teaching materials are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of adoptees.
Class Levels & Schedule – Two levels are available:
Level 1 (Beginners) – No prerequisites required.
Level 2 – Students typically transition from Level 1 with mutual agreement between the teacher and student.
Class Times:
Level 1: Wednesdays, 8:00–9:00 PM EST
Level 2: Thursdays, 7:30–8:30 PM EST
Tuition & Financial Support – The annual tuition for approximately 28 sessions is $300 per student. VoS covers half the cost, so families are responsible for $150. Additional financial assistance may be available for families facing hardship.
How to Register – To enroll your child, please complete the form below and return it to me at villageofthestars@gmail.com, or directly to the lead teacher, Dr. Ran Zhao, at rz4e@virginia.edu.
